When a Parking Lot Is So Much More
We need to redefine “parking lot” to include something that offers a variety of public uses, mitigates its impact on the environment and looks good, too.
Interesting piece by Eran Ben-Joseph of MIT. Brings to mind the immediate gut reaction to parking when dealt with by the designer or planner: “you’re telling me we need how many spaces?!” What if these gluttons of space instead became a focus of attention?
